| Know the strings of your guitar.
The thinnest string is the first string and is called the E string or high E string. The next thinnest string is 2nd string and is called the B string The next thinnest string is the 3rd string and is called the G string It is easier to learn 3 strings at a time. Now lets move onto the heavier strings. Lets start with the Thickest String. The Thickest string is the 6th string and is called the Low E String The next thickest string is the 5th string and is called the A string The next thickest string is the 4th string and is called the D string. |
Here is a diagram of the strings and names:

The most basic finger exercise is stretching.
Try This.
Make a Fist of your strumming hand and
place it between your first and second fingers.
Feel the stretching.
Now do the same between the 2nd and 3rd fingers and again for the 3rd and 4th fingers.
Great you are already to start!
